The Independence Community Foundation (ICF)
is a private foundation created in 1998 through an endowment
from the former Independence Community Bank. ICF focuses on
community development, education, culture and the arts, and
economic and workforce development issues in the New York
metropolitan area. The Foundation's assets are directed at
addressing economic and social inequities and creating greater
opportunities for educational and cultural enrichment.
We are a foundation firmly rooted within the
communities we serve. And while we focus heavily on achieving
visible results in our community development work, we also keep
sight of our primary mission of building strength locally to sustain
improvements over time.
